SECOND SUN
Every morning a huge bright ball of fire rises up from the eastern horizon, dissolving the darkness of the night and marking the beginning of a new day for the 6 billion humans and countless other living things on the planet. This massive nuclear torch burning tirelessly for the last 4 billion years, providing light to the deepest corners of the solar system, has a much deeper influence on our lives than just acting as a mere source of light during the day. Believe me but the sunlight you see each day is different and influences our lives in a different way. We don’t notice it, but it’s true!
We all feel happy and active in the light of the day. The sight of a sunrise lifts our spirits. Everyday this sun fuels another torch, an invisible torch, hidden deep within our soul. We don’t feel it’s presence but we do feel it’s heat. It’s there in everything in this universe…but it’ll manifest itself to only those who are willing to see it. This torch, or the second sun as I call it, is what gives me the strength to face the day’s challenges and pursue my dreams. It is what drives me ahead everyday, gives me hope and shows me the way when I am confused. And when it lights up really bright, it induces a flood of energy, taking over the mind and body, killing all my fears and imparting the much needed ‘to hell with the consequences, I’ll give my best shot’ attitude.
Considering my weak emotional heart, intuition is what I largely rely on to guide me through the tough times….and till now it has never failed me. Greek mythology says that intuition is actually the oracle. Messenger of God, showing you the path. And I believe it’s the second sun that drives the intuition. Because from my experiences I know that intuition never shows you the way if you are not willing to accept the second sun within you. I have made some huge mistakes by ignoring its signs and made some right choices by following the signs. This thing is very important to me because it has brought me where I am now, and it’s going to take me further ahead in life.
The year 2009 ended for me with a beautiful sight of a sunset. I prayed let this sunset take away all my fears and worries and let the next sunrise bring with it a new hope and new energy for the new year ahead. I am sure the second sun will always light my path and show me the way. Looking from another angle I realize that this sun is a part of a much larger reality….it is a part of the delicate fabric of life, and I am completely dependent on it. I made a resolution to atleast try to achieve what I desire and pursue my dreams regardless of the outcome. I will face the challenges each day brings and end the day with a satisfaction that I atleast tried. After all its true what they say…. “the only easy day, was yesterday”.
